Hitsumabushi was originated from Nagoya where cut up grilled eel was serve on a bed of rice in a wooden tub. I was in Tokyo area and about to move to Kyoto when I learnt about it so I googled some Hitsumabushi restaurant and found one at Grand Front Osaka

The Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory is owned by the sister in law of Hayao Miyazaki. The cafe itself was decorated a lot with characters that was created by Mr. Miyazaki, the founder of the Studio Ghibli. I was so happy to finally taste the famous Totoro Creampuffs!

We didn't have time to try other famous ramen places in Japan but if you only need time for one then go for Ichiran instead, where numerous people have tried and agreed that they made amazing ramen dishes!
